Golf clubs are very personal. Irons have to appeal to your eye when you set up. Get fit for the correct shaft, lie angle and shaft length. If you prefer woods (as I do), put a 3, 5, 7 and even  9 wood in the bag. Irons - 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, PW, GW and SW. I prefer a 9 wood to a hybrid because you can sweep a 9 wood (and other woods) without hitting down as with a hybrid. I see players get stuck and not finish a swing with hybrids. A "9" wood is much easier to hit then a hybrid. Most of the time we have to carry a false front or bunker. Distance is anywhere from 160 yards to 175 yards with a high launch and soft landing. Greens are big enough to hold shot. Be long with clubs and never short. To play well, score and HAVE FUN, focus on  the driver (240 - 260 yards), 9 wood (from 150 - 170 yards out), wedges and of course putter.
